BSmooth is a powerful 2.5D terrain modeler that creates native terrains with full 65536 Levels for Bryce 3D (or 2048 Levels in Bryce 2) or DXF files for the import into other 3D Applications.
It creates terrains that you otherwise couldn't create at all, and is also a solution to overcome an limitation for terrain map import:
If you are importing pictures into KPT Bryce the 256 levels of the grayscale pict are mapped to the 65536 Levels Bryce does use internally. So your heighmap is bumpy right from the start. Bryce 3D does some bluring during import, however this doesn't change the amount of information you can import. Especially if you set your terrain to a metallic texture you see how bumpy it is in fact.
BSmooth also provides a way to export Bryce terrains to DXF so you can use them in other modelers.
Please do not try to use Bsmooth
without having
a short look at least
in it's multipage documentation!
If you have installation problems ("Appearance lib not found" etc.) then you get help there!
You would miss all the fun :-(
It covers all aspects of this software in detail and gives a lot of important information about the concepts of BSmooth.

On this page (it's the online registration page for my products at Kagi), you will find a link to my current site: Simply click onto my Name!
If you register, you get a key to unlock BSmooth from me directly. Registering also supports the development of this project among others and allows me to put some time in this instead of working at other (less interesting) projects.
System requirements:
• PPC
• MacOS (if you still use OS 7.x, you have to install the Appearance lib, which can be downloaded from my site)
• 24 MB free RAM for BSmooth
You will have to register
to make real use of this software!
I'm sorry - the BSmooth Demo is crippled. Exactly half of the created terrain is still in 256 levels to show you the difference BSmooth makes and the terrain size of the demo is limited to 128 x 128 Pixels.
Details of the registration are covered by the standalone manual.
